My love for the Bear of Very Little Brain was only enhanced by this collection of the most valuable lessons learned throughout the course of his adventures. Priceless nuggets were included such as this...
"When looking at your two paws, as soon as you have decided which of them is the right one, then you can be sure the other one is the left."
and this
"When you're visiting a friend and you find that it is time for a little smackerel of something, try looking wistfully in the direction of the cupboard."
valuable advice, that.
"When making an expotition to discover the North Pole, be sure someone in the group knows what the North Pole looks like."
Ah, Pooh Bear, where would I be without you?

A.A. Milne is surely rolling in his grave. This book was written years after his death and isn't anything like the original Winnie the Pooh books (which consist of Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner). Instead of an incredibly well written story as the real Winnie the Pooh books are this book consists of cheap phrases used to make money off of a book that few have even read.

Geweldige wijsheden van Pooh en z’n vriendjes, zoals:
‘Je moet wel respect hebben voor iemand die FEBRUARI kan spellen, ook al spelt hij hem verkeerd.’
en:
‘Je schiet er niets mee op als voor de tweede helft van een gesprek alleen iemands staart nog maar in zicht is.’
Vooruit, nog eentje:
Soms is een boot een boot en soms is het meer een ongeluk. Het hangt ervan af of je eronder of erbovenop zit.’
Natuurlijk is het boekje een beetje het uitmelken van het ‘product Pooh’, maar de weetjes zijn wel erg vermakelijk, zeker als je Pooh-fan bent.

I was given this book on the occasion of my 11th birthday and, re-reading it now, I think that was the perfect age. In lieu of being a "proper" Pooh book, it is as if someone (in this case, Joan Powers) read those books for you and distilled them down to sweet ("A bear, however hard he tries, Grows tubby without exercise") or humorous ("When in doubt, keep in mind that "O gallant Piglet" is always a very thoughtful way of beginning a piece of poetry") little anecdotes for living your best life in a Pooh-inspired fashion. They call to mind the stories from which they originated, which makes this Pooh enthusiast smile, and are accompanied by some of the original-style illustrations.

A.A. Milne's birthday was January 18 so I have gathered some of his books and a few other children's books and will be reading them the rest of January. Pooh's Little Instruction Book is one that was given to me by a co-worker many years ago and though there is not much to it, I have to say it is very profound. As Eeyore says, "We can't all and some of us don't That's all there is to it."

Seriously, what's not to like about Winnie the Pooh? Some sound advice, some silliness, and overall joyous Pooh-isms make this cute little book, sweetly illustrated in the old fashioned Pooh style, a delight to read. It's one readers will cherish, give as gifts, and return to again and again when life presents moments that could use a little of the wisdom of Pooh and his friends.

This is a hard book to find in libraries. It was a short little book with inspired sayings from Pooh and the many characters in his books.

About 3.5 stars for me
While I never actually read any Winnie the Pooh books or watched any of the cartoons when I was a kid, this book has been sitting on a shelf in my house for as long as I can remember.
While I did flip through it from time to time, today was my first time reading every quote.
It definitely made me feel better, and I did learn a few very important things:
A. If you ever get stuck in a hole/door that was too tight- chances are you'll stay there for at least a week
B. A balloon is a great tool to have while in search for honey- assuming said honey is real
C. Never climb a tree if you don't know how to climb down from it
D. Always check to make sure your rope is indeed a rope and not your friends' tail
All jokes aside- there are some really important messages hidden in this book, and I hope to keep coming back to them whenever I feel a bit down. I would definitely recommend it as a nice gift to give someone who could use some humor and inspiration from time to time :)

An amusing, cute little illustrated coffee table book. We read ours in snippets, occassionally, after dinner. Some favorite quotes:
"People who don't Think probably don't have Brains; rather, they have grey fluff that's blown into their heads by mistake."
"When selecting a new bell-rope for your front door, make sure it isn't someone else's tail."
"When you are pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen, brush the honey off your nose and spruce yourself up as best you can, so as to look Ready for Anything."

It was okay. A bit random, though. I think I was looking for it to be more along the lines of The Tao of Pooh so my expectations may have been too steep. I think it could have been way better with a more organized flow to it and more of the zen-y quotes.

Rad. Very short but fun collection of Winnie the Pooh sound bites, but hilarious in its unconventional wisdom. Nice for a daily dose of one or two quotes.
