“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” thesp Dominic Cooper looks ready to take on the most famous vampire of all as he is in negotiations to co-star in Universal’s “Dracula” starring Luke Evans.

Sarah Gadon is also on board with Gary Shore helming. Michael De Luca is producing.

The story is a mix of mythology and  history as it follows the story of Prince Vlad, the inspiration for the Dracula character popularized by Bram Stoker’s novel.

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the latest draft of the script and Alissa Phillips will serve as exec producer. VP of production Anikah McLaren and creative executive Jay Polidoro will oversee the project for Universal, which is slating it for an Aug. 8, 2014, release.

Cooper was most recently seen in “Dead Man Down” and can be seen next in the DreamWorks pic “Need for Speed.” He is repped by CAA and Markham, Froggart & Irwin in the U.K.
