Avengers: Infinity War will see the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and pretty much any other MCU hero you care to mention facing off against Thanos, an intergalactic warlord with conquest on his mind. But Thanos won't be alone when he invades Earth.

We already know some of the actors who filmed the motion capture for the Black Order – Thanos's alien lieutenants – but Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has been teasing that some well-known actors will be voicing them.

"There are interesting people doing the voices," he told Vulture. "You'll probably know when you see the movie."

Judging by the teasers for Infinity War, the Black Order will consist of four characters (down from five in the comics) – Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian.

Motion-capture actor Terry Notary performed as Corvus Glaive on set, with Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (The Secret Agent) as Ebony Maw.

As voice actors are probably the easiest to keep under wraps, we currently have no clue as to who will voice the Black Order.

Having one actor doing motion capture and another voicing the character is certainly not unprecedented in Marvel's films. Bradley Cooper voices Rocket, but Sean Gunn stands in for him on set. Josh Brolin, however, did both the motion capture and voice acting for Thanos.

The Black Order has gone through a few changes between comic and screen. Typically, the character they left out, Supergiant, was the only other female on the team besides Proxima Midnight.

'Cull Obsidian' is actually an alternate name for the group in the comics, with the character who has that name in Infinity War originally being named Black Dwarf (we can't imagine why they changed that).

There have also been some hints that they are not just Thanos's minions in the movie but his adopted children, putting them on the same level as Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen Gillan).

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on April 27 in the UK and May 4 in the US.
