This is a treasure trove of wise words.

Are you stuck somewhere? Are you looking for inspirational and motivational thoughts to give your day a positive start? Then you check out this collection of golden nuggets of wisdom. I should have found this book earlier, but it's always better "late than never" as the cliche goes.

I finished reading this book same day I got it. I really like the content a lot in this book. It's a short book but It offers to the point positive thoughts. I did notice a spelling mistake ("wright" instead of "right"...I think Roy meant "right"...sorry if I'm incorrect). Based on the content, this author will learn from that and carry on. That is why I kept my 5 stars. I recommend this book to anyone. My favorite part in the book is "Your life is happening right now". This author is also on Twitter and offers frequent positive quotes with amazing art.

A lot of good quotes

Basically, it is a bunch of motivational quotes. Nice pictures. Otherwise, a book of fluff. These quotes can also be found on Goodreads.

Admittedly, platitudes can be helpful. If nothing else, religion is evidence of this helpfulness. Still, we must make an effort not to reduce the world to phrases or to believe ourselves to be capable beyond our limits. Quite simply, humankind and the natural universe are complicated. Too often do we form simple generalizations that sustain our ignorance. To believe that you know all you need to know is not only harmful to yourself but also to others.

For example, one line from this book includes “Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.” While I believe we should neither act as fatalists nor blame the outer world for our miseries, I also believe attitude and happiness are slightly more complicated than "a choice."

By this I mean, the World Health Organization observes that close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds. It would seem that these people could not choose to be happy. Further, a United Nations statistical report compiled from government sources showed that more than 250,000 cases of rape or attempted rape were recorded by police annually. Of course, this neglects unreported cases.

This is to say, we must strive for optimism and generosity but also recognize that all people suffer, and this suffering is more than a choice. I only consider one example here, but many such phrases and statements inside and outside of this book address issues which are more nuanced than any explanation within the word count of a Tweet.

While I have not read the book only selected quotes from the book on Goodreads, I would love to have this book in my book collection/library. judging from what I have read, Mr. Roy T. Bennett is a man of tremendous spiritual insight. His quotes are sensitive and as the title reads, truly A Light In The Heart of those reading them. I would love to learn more about Mr. Bennett's background and how he came to discover or author these quotes for they are a tonic for the Soul in today's turbulent times. I recommend this book or e-book, or his quotes on Goodreads to anyone walking a spiritual path.

The food for the mind, heart, and soul.

Self-talk is inevitable when you read The Light in the Heart if you currently feel confused, sad, and lost or if you just want to reconsider/evaluate/value your core values and beliefs.

It was hard to rate this book 'cause I don't really think it's a book. It's more like inspirational quotebook. However these quotes helped me to compose my list of NY's Resolutions. Some things are so obvious but we often don't see them or tend to forget.
