Emery left Sevilla in 2016 to become PSG manager on a two-year contract

Paris St-Germain manager Unai Emery is leaving the French champions at the end of the season.

PSG clinched the French title earlier this month but the Spaniard, 46, is out of contract in the summer.

Former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel - who has been linked with Arsenal - is widely expected to be Emery's replacement.external-link

"I have told the players I am leaving," said Emery, who joined PSG on a two-year deal in June 2016.

"I thank president Nasser Al Khelaifi, the director of sport Antero Henrique, the supporters and all the players for these two seasons."

The club finished second behind Monaco in Emery's first season in charge but defeated the champions 7-1 on 15 April to claim their fifth league title in six years.

Emery, who won the Europa League three years running with Sevilla, has previously been linked with a moveexternal-link to Real Sociedad.

    Not surprised, PSG looked toothless and out of depth in the CL knock out stages, which is what Emery was brought in to win.

    With huge money spent comes huge expectations, and he's a good manager so won't find it hard getting another job.

    Maybe PSG should spend less money on players like Neymar and put it where its really needed. All style no substance.

    For starters im not French so dont a s**t about PSG neither do 99.99% of people using this site, and anyway PSG are the Man City of France .......an unlevel playing field where the owners have corrupted the once beautiful game......maximum wage cap will give most clubs the same power and equality will follow and stop the greed that has engulfed the game and the players and agents

    Neymar belongs in the English Premier League.

    Neymar is the epitome of the modern day greedy footballer.....played for one of the most prestigious and successful clubs in the world but chose to go to PSG for the money.......If he does end up the EPL it will no doubt be to join the the corruptors of English football......Man city.

    Arsenal could do a lot worse than hiring this guy. He done a fantastic job at both Seville and Valencia, especially when you consider the latters financial difficulties. Things didn't go so well at Spartak Moscow but I'm sure many a top coach who'd never worked overseas before would struggle in Russia. It's hard to really judge him on the job he done at PSG all things considered.

    Do you feel the same sorry for the greats of English football like Villa, Forrest , Leeds etc who are not part of the obscene money driven EPL, where the true giants of the English game like Bournemouth, Brighton, man city etc rule supreme??

    Hey cmac, I believe you are talking about my club. As a supporter for 40 years, I feel that many fans would swop with ourselves. We got taken over...Would you then walk away from your club if it suddenly received financial backing. Look back to when the club was founded, we started winning things earlier than most..

    @61 I know. I feel sick for all the great french teams like marseille and st etienne who have to compete with such a plastic joke. Football should be about ability and identity. I'd bring in a foreigner rule pick 25 players but 15 have to be nationals....it's a start. Up vote if you agree..
