Fulham youngster Harvey Elliott is on the radar of Barcelona and Chelsea after his sparkling performances in youth football.

Elliott does not turn 16 until April but was this week invited to train with the first-team squad members who have remained at Fulham during the international break.

The midfielder is admired by boss Slavisa Jokanovic but FA rules mean he cannot formally discuss a scholarship deal until January, nor commit to a professional deal until he is 17 — potentially opening the door for other clubs to move in.

Standard Sport understands Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City are also aware of his progress. Elliott first attracted the attention of Barcelona when he shone for England Under-15s at a tournament in Italy earlier this year.

Fulham hope the success of fellow youth star Ryan Sessegnon means Elliott can be persuaded to stay.

Like Elliott, Sessegnon was courted by the top clubs in Europe when he was a schoolboy but opted to sign professionally with Fulham and has been a huge success.

Sessegnon, 18, helped Fulham win promotion to the Premier League last season and is closing in on 100 senior appearances. He was a possible surprise contender for England’s World Cup squad this summer.
