Electronic Arts to acquire Korean mobile developer

NEW YORK—Video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. on Wednesday said it will acquire assets of Hands-On Mobile Korea, a South Korean mobile game developer and publisher.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hands-On in best known for its mobile role-playing game Heroes Lore, EA said. Hands-On is a subsidiary of Hands-On Mobile, based in the U.S.

When the deal is complete, which is expected to be by the end of this quarter, the company will become EA Mobile Korea. EA said the deal will help it expand its mobile business in Asia.

The deal is not expected to hurt or help EA's fiscal 2009 results.

EA is also in the midst of attempting to acquire smaller rival Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. for $2 billion. Take-Two has said the offer is too low.
