Repeat Offenders
The most expensive person in our criminal Justice system is the repeat offender. There are programs like specialty courts that will help us deal with such offenders. These programs are not for everyone, some are too dangerous and must be locked up. For others we can keep ourselves safer, and save ourselves money at the same time. — with Peter C. Rotter.

Dangerous Offenders
Some people are too dangerous for us too allow to remain in the community. Despite my enthusiasm for alternatives to jail and prison, such alternatives are not for everyone. We can not allow the dangerous offenders to remain at large in our communities even with the intensive programs that I advocate. I will exercise the strength necessary to deal with dangerous offenders. — with Peter C. Rotter.

New Jail?
There is still talk about needing to build a new jail. You can bet it will cost more than the $40 million that was projected a few years ago. The specialty courts that I propose are specifically designed to provide a long term systematic means of reducing crime and the need for a new jail. — with Peter C. Rotter.
Community
Some words about a few of the ways in which I have been active in our community. There really isn’t time in this segment to list them all. Certainly it includes legal, spiritual and physical realms. Bringing a sense of community while learning and even having fun. — with Peter C. Rotter.

Our election night gathering will be at the Hiawatha Restaurant and Lounge at 713 Grant Street, Wausau. There is plenty of room so come on down and join us. We'll have wi-fi there so that we can follow the election returns on line. We'll start at about 7:30 and stay until the results are determined. You don't have to come for the whole night, you can stop in for just a little while if you like.

We also need the nomination papers back and the fundraiser will be a great time to get them to us or sign one if you haven't had an opportunity to do so.
We are having a fundraiser at the Hiawatha this Sunday (12-19-10) from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. (Packers play at 7:20). We will have food, a cash bar and live music by Jerry Duginske.

This will be a great time to get your yard signs, buttons and bumper stickers.

Please come out and join us.

I am truly humbled by a genuine grassroots effort to get the right person this very important job.

Too many people to thank and not enough hours in the day.

The awe that all of us in the campaign felt at all of your efforts paying off is new and uncharted territory for me.

I am honored by you all ... and mostly by the candidate.

We now have the real work ahead of us ... we can do this.

THANK YOU ALL FOR VOTING ! ! !

IF YOU HAVEN'T YET VOTED ... IT IS D-DAY.

Please take the following message with you today as you ask your friends if they have voted yet:

It is my firm belief that Pete has the best chance ... in April ... to keep yet another prosecuter from sitting on the bench here in Marathon County.

MORE IMPORTANTLY ... I believe that Peter has some of the best listening ears I have ever known in another human being. He will take that to the bench with him. And he will work hard to influence the ridiculous charging that this county is infamous for. He wil protect us from sociopathic criminals while at the same time listening well enough to get the proper help to those non violent offenders who will only suffer more from ineffective jail time.

Please vote today .. for Peter Rotter.

It is the day before the election folks.

You can still vote by absentee ballot at your City or Town Hall today.

Please do whatever you can to get yourself and your friends to vote today or tomorrow.

This is a chance for you to make a big difference right here in Marathon County ... your local community.

Peter will add balance, a passion for the law, and a pair of the best ears in his profession to the bench. All of these things are sorely needed.

Please do your part to get out the vote. The two candidates that move on to April could be decided by one vote.

Thank you for all your support and please join us at Malarkey's Pub on Tuesday Evening.

On behalf of the election commitee I would like to shout out to anyone who may have Snowfence POSTS. You know ... the green ones you drive in to the ground with the cylinder hammer ... the ones that have the knife at the bottom and notches up to the top.

We need them for signs ... they are expensive ... and it doesn't seem very 'green' to use them for such a short period of time (now through April).

We will return them of course.

If you have any you can call me at 297-1440. We will get you a reciept for your donation.

Our fundraiser at Bull Falls was very successful. We raised some money and more importantly raised awareness of my candidacy and the important issues in this campaign. Better yet, we did all that while having a great time!

Please join us on Thursday (tomorrow) February 5, 2009 at Malarky's for our next fundraiser, for all those of you who were unable to join us yesterday. This promises to be even more fun as we will have live music with the MaGees.

Why so many fundraisers?

Well, after our first fundraiser I heard from so many people that they had wanted to attend but had been busy that day.

Now there are three seperate fundraisers and they are all three very different events. There should be something for everyone and a time that should fit for everyone. A meal at the Red Apple, socialize and have a snack (and a great micro brew) at Bull Falls and/or come and enjoy great company and live music with the MaGees at Malarky's.

You will notice that Fundraiser starts with the word "Fun" and we hope to make each of these events Fun, first and foremost.

Sorry about double posting the Red Apple fundraiser. There are two others in the works as well. For sure Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Malarky's pub with live Music by the McGees. 4-7 p.m. Also trying to do one at Bull Falls Tuesday February 3 from 4-7 that one is still tentative. Just trying to give everyone a chance to come out and join the fun!
