CAEP stands on a strong foundation and rich history of accreditation in teacher and educator preparation. CAEP seeks to increase the value of accreditation and to increase participation, building on the decades of institutional knowledge of education’s previous accreditors.
2016:

CAEP accreditation standards are fully implemented; NCATE and TEAC legacy standards are no longer used for accreditation.

August 29, 2013 – The CAEP Board of Directors approve new accreditation standards.
July 1, 2013 – CAEP becomes fully operational as sole accrediting body for educator preparation providers.

Commission on Standards and Performance Reporting convened to develop the next generation of accreditation standards and performance measures for educator preparation.

Ohio becomes first state to sign a partnership agreement with CAEP as the new educator preparation accrediting body.
