1  rough, steep place  Syr.  EphFid 37:5.1 : ܥܪ̈ܡܐ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܥܣܩܐ.  EphFid 37:7.4 : ܕܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܥܪ̈ܡܐ ܘܥܣ̈ܩܐ ܢܦܘܩ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܫܦܝܐ.  P Is40:4 : ܘܢܗܘܐ ܥܪܡܐ ܠܫܦܝܐ  may the treacherous places become level.  PsS 8:19 : ܘܐܫܘܝܼܘ ܐܘܼܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܕܥܪܡܢ ܠܡܼܿܥܠܢܘܼܬܗ  they leveled the roads that are rough for his entrance. (a) difficult path (?)  Qumran.  1QapGen 6.2 : והוית מהלך בשבילי אמת עלמא וער֗מי קדיש[א  I would walk in the paths of eternal truth and the difficult ways of the Holy One †.
