Miley Cyrus had a lot of people speculating about what she would do when she hosted SNL earlier tonight. A well-placed source had reported that Miley would twerk, rip into Sinead O’Conner and possibly even “cross boundaries” because of the late hour of the show. Some fans said she may end up costing the network money because she could perhaps treat the viewing audience to more nudity than we’ve seen already. Instead of pushing limits or crossing boundaries, she hosted the worst episode in recent SNL history.
Firstly, the show was delayed for about a half hour because of a game that ran into overtime. This left fans even more anxious to see what would happen when the episode started. When it finally began we were again treated to Miley’s enormous cow tongue sticking out and she was dressed in her teddy bear outfit from the VMA Awards. Thankfully, her bizarre tongue antics have finally been explained; she said they’re a result of “mini-strokes,” which makes perfect sense since that’s exactly what it looks like when she sticks out her bovine-esque oral appendage.
She then proceeded to appear in a very unfunny skit about a 50 Shades of Grey casting call, doing a bad and boring impression of Scarlett Johannson, which she could not pull off since Scarlett Johannson is a a natural beauty and Miley is a 3 even with makeup. Miley then gave a humdrum performance of some forgettable song before appearing in an unwatchable skit about cheerleaders being abducted by aliens.
There was a very weird and totally humorless “video” about the government shutdown starring Miley which was a takeoff of her We Can’t Stop video. Many people were undoubtedly pressing the fast forward button, but there was nothing worthwhile to fast-forward to.
Her second song performance was an acoustic version of “We Can’t Stop,” which was at least different than than the norm; some reviewers called it “poignant,” but they are obviously more fond of Ms. Cyrus than the thousands of folks who have been growing increasingly disgusted by her antics.
There were a couple of skits which produced no laughs whatsoever, and it became apparent that Miley Cyrus is no actress. The show mercifully ended with the cast hugging and congratulating Miley. There was no twerking, no ripping up any pictures or ripping on Sinead, no nudity and nothing controversial whatsoever. Miley was also dressed a lot more conservatively than she has been in recent performances.
There’s one caveat to this dreadful review, though, and that’s the fact that the lackluster epiosde wasn’t entirely Miley’s fault. In fact, the new cast members were not very good at all, and were so unfunny that they seemed to be dragging the rest of the more seasoned cast member down with them. The show, overall, might be in trouble. So, while Miley Cyrus hosted the worst episode in recent SNL history, it was only partially because she gave us her normal talentless offerings.

They deny Jesus as their Messiah and say their Messiah will be revealed to rule the whole world under a one world religion. They are not even hiding this information, but are actually promoting it. When Donald Trump made Jerusalem captial of Israel in late December 2017, the Jewish people said this was a big step for them to build this Third Temple. They even printed a Temple coin with president Trump’s face on the front with king Cyrus'(the man who built the Second Temple in the Bible) face behind him. On the back of the coin is an image of the Third Temple. They are selling these coins to raise money to build the Temple.
People have been saying for many years that the end is near, but we needed not only the Third Temple, but also the technology for there to be a cashless society for the Mark of the Beast to be a reality.

No one is bitter. The entire show stunk period. I used to like Miley. She was all out terrible on Sat. Night. The other cast members were terrible, the writing was terrible.it was downright boring. Big deal they r talking about her today. You can keep her. SNL used to be great satire…..it just plain sucks.
Anyone who says this episode is funny and she did a good job is crazy or they really like Miley. My dislike for the scum that is Cyrus aside. That was the single most horrible comedy of any sort that I have ever seen. I agree with the reviewer that it wasn’t all Mileys fault. The writers and the new cast members are apparently awful. The one skit where they were all in high school talking made me want to pull my eyes out. That girls voice wasn’t funny just severely annoying. My god was that terrible. Seriously I dont care how much you like Miley Cyrus nobody in the world could have seen what i just witnessed and say that it was awesome or even remotely good. Something is getting in the way of your judgement.
Miley is fun, she looked great, sounded decent, and it was a pretty funny episode!!! I dont understand why people unload all there crap and hate on her, she understands the entertainment bussniess and is definatly doing it right!!!
Why didn’t you just say “I don’t like Miley Cyrus” and saved yourself the effort of writing a review? This was total non-sense. You don’t like her, therefore her songs are forgettable and she’s not a good actress? What you need to do is give legitimate reasons why. Why was one sketch boring? Has it been done before on the show? Is the parody/spoof redundant or tired? Is it relevant/topical or not? I don’t understand why I need to provide you with a basic knowledge of criticism.

This is an empty criticism and childish jab at nothing. Her impression wasn’t funny because you don’t find her pretty? Why is this relevant to the review?
Hate Miley Cyrus all you want, but do it for the right reasons and then explain those reasons. Calling her a bad actress who isn’t pretty does nothing for your readers and even less for your credibility.

So she wasn’t funny because it made you sleepy. Okay fine. I won’t touch that one. And also, what “audience data” are you talking about? Either provide a source, or a statistic accompanied by its source, or don’t mention it. Look: Audience data proves that this was the best episode of Saturday Night Live in its history. Did I just prove my point to you? No, because it’s a meaningless statement.

Like comedy, enjoying her acting style is completely subjective. I can’t argue if you don’t think she’s a good actress. I don’t even think she’s a particularly skilled actress, but your justification for this opinion is ludicrous. She’s a clown to laugh at because she went on SNL and played comedic roles? Poked fun at herself and the attention she’s receiving? Or just because she dresses abnormally and does “zany” things? With this criteria, isn’t any pop star a clown?

I think it was clear I wasn’t pulling any age card. This reviewer is (presumably) an adult who has a paid job writing for this publication. What this reviewer wrote was shallow and lazy, akin to how a teenager might snipe back at a fellow teenager in a moment of anger. Think: “Well, you’re ugly!” Wait, that’s exactly what Rebecca Savastio did! She basically wrote a piece that, in part, called out Miley for being ugly, which makes her not funny.
Then, in the comments, she goes on to say: “Grown ups also speak their minds without resorting to ad hominem attacks. Ad Hominem attacks indicate a lack of original ideas or anything substantial with which to counter an argument. It was a boring show. See? Now you try to write something similar which counters my argument without resorting to ad hominem attacks. What will you say? That Miley is brilliant and oh-so-talented? She’s not. She is also immature, lacking in grace and refinement, and she sets a terrible example for young girls.”
Fun, right? Rebecca Savastio calls Miley ugly and then calls out someone who disagrees with her for using “ad hominem” attacks (nice necessary Latin phrase-dropping, by the way). So an adult woman calls out a young pop star for being ugly and then goes around and claims that Miley lacks “grace,” “refinement,” and “sets a terrible example for young girls.” Do I need to point out the hypocrisy of this statement?
My point is: You can hate Miley Cyrus. I don’t care one way or the other, and I bet she cares even less. She is polarizing and she knows it. However, if you’re supposed to be writing a review of something she does – be it SNL, or an album or whatever – and you’re getting paid for it, then offer some valid, thoughtful criticism and an interesting perspective. Don’t resort to petty name-calling and dismissive, catty comments and confuse it with a valid opinion.
This is Professional Criticism 101, people.

Surprised when I learned she was to host this wk, I was unimpressed w Miley’s acting/appearance as host.
Fast fwding a bit after sitting thru the painfully unfunny Girlfriends… talkshow skit & other Miley stuff, I remained hopeful of finding something worthwhile.
Didn’t see the last half hour bcz my scheduled recording ended, but think it likely we didn’t miss much that followed the skit with Miley +2 boring us with Good Morning anchors, except perhaps more of the Miley Train Wreck that was SNL October 5th. NOT all press is good press.

Its funny how two of your sources gave this episodes positive reviews. They only thought a few sketches were bad, but thats how it usually is with SNL. I was disappointed Miley Cyrus was selected to host last night, but it turned out to be a funny episode. And don’t blame the new cast members, its only been two episodes to judge them as “unfunny”. I’ve read negative reviews that actually points out good reasons, but this just makes it seem like you hate the girl.
As a (former) fan of the SHOW, I was disappointed. It wasn’t funny, period. All you M.C. fans can get all upset at me, it doesn’t change the fact that I, and by what I’ve been reading so far, most viewers agree on. Not funny.

I personally thought it was a good episode. Her musical performances were much better than I anticipated. I still don’t care for her recent attention-getting antics, but I’m sort of glad she is getting some attention, now that I see she’s a fairly competent performer and entertainer. This article and author are clearly biased. Was it the best SNL ever? No. Was it worth watching? Yes. Get over your nastiness, Ms. Savastio. You are the one that is coming across as immature.

Wow someone is bitter…it doesn’t matter if a nobody like you hated it. Everyone is still talking about Miley so she wins in the end. It was a great episode, everyone is saying it is better than Tina Fey’s season opener last week. Miley made fun of herself (always the best way to get people to like you again), got a lot of laughs from the audience and most importantly, she showed that she CAN sing. Everyone was expecting more controversy but she made it all about the music here. It is hard to guess what she will do next, which is why everyone will be tuning into the Today show to see her on Monday. This girl is on fire.

Damn you are one bitter human being. It was a hilarious episode. You can tell by reading this review that you automatically wrote it off before even viewing because it’s so cool to hate Miley. Grow up. The point of a review is to actually look at the material with an open-mind.
