Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street, and Impelsys have teamed to launch a new digital publishing platform where readers can subscribe to a library of more than 100 Sesame Street eBooks.

The eBookstore (www.ebooks.sesamestreet.org) is managed by Impelsys and powered by iPublishCentral software and allows readers to gain unlimited access to the collection for an annual subscription of US$39.99. A special introductory price of US$24.99 is being offered to subscribers through July 4.

The collection offers Sesame Street titles such as Elmo’s ABC Book, Abby in Wonderland, and Grover’s Guide to Good Eating in a variety of formats and levels of engagement, including eBooks, audio eBooks and interactive eBooks.

Other features include an auto-play option that turns the pages for the reader and text. The site also provides the option of viewing in Kids Mode, which simplifies the navigation for a child by displaying only the available books while removing parent tips and menus.

New titles will be added regularly to the virtual bookshelf, and a rotating selection of five eBooks will be made available free of charge.
