The Carving Board, Hollywood's New Sandwich Dream

Watch out Mendocino Farms, The Carving Board brings some new competition for gourmet sandwiches to Los Angeles. Taking over the former Troyka spot and officially opened as of July 23, the brother team of David and Joab Adir is hoping to offer unique takes on the sandwich format. Consider The Bentley, made with filet mignon, blue cheese, caramelized onion, fresh spinach and bacon mayo on a ciabatta roll. There are hot and cold options, and sandwiches can be made into salads as well. The rest of menu is up here.

Hollywood's location will be similar to Tarzana's menu by incorporating the same staple items with some specialty ones too. In addition to intricate sandwiches, they're also serving beer & wine. There are eventual plans to stay open until 2 a.m., with expansion possibilities in the works for West LA and Burbank. — Keyla Vasconcellos
