Overview
The number of people living in Britain who were born in Denmark changed very little between 1991 and 2001 - an increase of 295, amounting to just over 4,000 people.

The majority lived in the London area with some smaller clusters in other parts of the south east. Approximately 1,000 Denmark-born people lived across Surrey with clusters in Weybridge, Esher and Walton. The university towns of Oxford, Cambridge and Aberdeen also showed small clusters.

However, one of the oldest clusters is in Grimsby, on the mouth of the Humber. Why? Because Danish trawlers came to the port to land fish - and some of the fishermen fell for the local girls...

18,493 Denmark-born people were found living in Britain in 2001 – representing 0.03% of the total British population.
55% more people born in Denmark were shown living in Scotland than 10 years before, equating to 1,300 people or 0.01% of the Scottish population.
