He tapped out a complicated 25-word message in just 48 seconds, beating the previous best time by 19 seconds.

Craig, from Dumfries beat 11 other finalists at a contest in London, and took home a £50,000 prize.

He sends 75 texts a day, and said: "It still hasn't sunk in. My phone has been ringing non stop since I got home."

Craig plans to spend part of his winnings on a new phone, but admits his skill probably doesn't run in his family.

"My mum still doesn't seem to have the hang of it although my dad can just about do small messages," he said.
