Syrian Observatory for Human Rights report of 2013

Believing in merits of human rights and encompassing humanitarian principles, and as a Syrian human rights organisation, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), has done its utmost to monitor and document all violations committed against the Syrian people in September 2023 and tracked all developments on the ground.

In September 2023, SOHR published 824 news articles and nearly 58 reports. Meanwhile, local and international press and media agencies cited SOHR articles on more than 247 occasions. Also, many exclusive interviews with politicians, human rights activists, artists and military commanders. In addition, SOHR’s director, Mr. Rami Abdulrahman, participated in 73 interviews on numerous international TV channels and radio stations.

SOHR has compiled its booklet, comprising 13 reports with infographics, to summarise all key developments in Syria in September 2023 with the aim of highlighting the plight of Syrian people through presenting all violations and crimes committed against them.

ANF: Autonomous Administration to buy the entire wheat and cotton crops from farmers

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced that they will buy the entire wheat and cotton crops from farmers this year.

Ehmed Yûnis stated that the main purpose of the decision was to strategically protect wheat and cotton warehouses.

The Autonomous Administration, which last year purchased 1,300,000 tonnes of wheat (43 cents per kilogram in US currency), has not yet set this year’s purchase price.

ANF: Women in Raqqa regain confidence in themselves through art

Painter Ezîze El Utbe is doing important work for disadvantaged women who were subjected to violence. She wants to teach women painting and handicrafts so that they could gain self-confidence and strengthen their economies.

Ezize El Utbe, who had to migrate to Hema after ISIS occupied Raqqa, returned to Raqqa after the city was liberated by the SDF.

The woman, who first returned to Raqqa in 2018, decided to return for good in 2023 after the successful work of the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration in the region.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: In fear of Israeli response | Iranian militias put in maximum mobilization and preparation at Syrian territory

Iranian militias have been put into alert on Syrian territory and major mobilization for 25 hours, in preparation to carry out Iranian threats against the assassination of commanders of the “Axis of Resistance” and decrease the frequency of Israeli attacks in order to stay in Syrian territory and reinforce their presence.

The militias repositioned and deployed in several Syrian regions, removed flags, banners, and signs that confirm their presence, froze public movements of commanders except in cases of extreme necessity, and changed convoy vehicles for military commanders.

These changes took place in Damascus, Al-Qalmoun area, south western Rif Dimash, areas near the occupied Syrian Al-Golan and Aleppo and its countryside.

ANF: Kurdish parties in North-East Syria continue working to determine a common political stance

Kurdish parties in North-East Syria, which have been working for some time to determine a common political stance for the solution of the Kurdish question in Syria and to play a role in the solution of the Syrian crisis, are taking important steps.

At a time when war and conflicts continue in the Middle East and the occupying Turkish state wants to pit Kurds against each other by planning new invasion attacks, Kurdish parties have also accelerated their struggle for unity.

Kurdish parties in Northern and Eastern Syria have been working for some time to determine a common political stance for the solution of the Kurdish question and the Syrian crisis.

ANF: Turkey continues to cut off water supply to Alouk Station in Hesekê

The Turkish state continues to cut off the water supply to Alouk Station in Hesekê. The Autonomous Administration, on the other hand, is making great efforts to provide water for the people.

The occupation of the Turkish state and its mercenaries in the city of Serêkaniyê has been continuing since October 2019. So are the attacks on the region. The Turkish state and its mercenaries cut off the Alouk Station, which provides water to more than one and a half million people in Hesekê and its district.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Shocking escalation of security disorder | Nearly 200 civilians among over 500 people killed in Ramadan across Syria

All zones of influence across Syria have experienced dramatic escalation of incidents of security disorder since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of 518 people, including 195 civilians, in different circumstances in Ramadan throughout Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) warns against the unwelcome repercussions of the escalating crime rate in Syria and renew its calls upon all international actors to find a lasting solution to the tragedy of millions of Syrians and bring Al-Assad, his affiliates and all those responsible for violations and those who aided and abetted the killing of Syrian people to justice.

ANF: 4 people, including two brothers, kidnapped, hundreds of olive trees cut down in Afrin

The occupation forces kidnapped four more people in Afrin, two of them brothers, and cut down around 450 olive trees.

According to local sources, four people, including two brothers, were kidnapped in Afrin, which has been under the occupation of the Turkish state since 2018.

The abducted people are Mehmûd Sebrî Ebdalo from Jalemê village of Jindires district, Fîras Nûrî Hoba and Cewad Nûrî Hoba, two brothers from Afrin centre, and Rênas Reşîd Mihemed from Şêxurzê village of Bilbile district.

In Bilbile district, the Turkish state and its gangs continue to loot people’s property.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Rejected by people | Returnees from Al-Hawl camp struggle to integrate in Syrian society

The neighbourhoods and alleys of Al-Raqqah city host nearly 1,000 families of women and children who have returned from Al-Hawl camp. The most of those women and children, who are wives, widows, sisters, sons and daughters of ISIS members, have been rejected by the Syrian society, which makes every place they live in to be more akin to a “grand prison.”

The families inhabiting A-Raqqah city are struggling with dreadful living conditions and rejected by people around them, although many local and international programs, which are supported by international organisations, operate in the city.

ANF: New colonial houses in built in Jindires, Afrin

The occupying Turkish state established new colonial houses in Jindires district of Afrin.

It was stated that the Turkish-backed gangs, in cooperation with the Wîfaq organisation and with the support of Palestinian organisations, built new colonial houses in Afrin’s Cindires district to shelter the gang families.

Sources in the region reported that 84 colonial houses, a mosque, a school and a park have been built in the area so far. 42 gang families have been settled in these colonial houses.

The occupying Turkish state, through organisations in Qatar, Kuwait and Palestine, has so far built colonial houses in nearly 38 areas in the Afrin countryside.
