Mercantec Shopping Cart
MindSpring Business Services is pleased to be offering Mercantec
SoftCart to its Virtual Web hosting customers. SoftCart is a shopping
cart system that is used to promote online commerce by making it easier
for the shopper to purchase items on the Web. Cyber merchants open a
"virtual store," and the shopper browses through the online store,
collecting items in a virtual "shopping cart." SoftCart automatically
calculates the price of each item, including tax and shipping charges,
for a running total.
SoftCart virtual store software allows a merchant to display products
or services on easily customizable Web pages. The software allows the
merchant to easily take an aggregated order, calculate tax and shipping
charges, connect to a secure payment system for credit card authorization,
and send the completed order to back office applications such as:
accounting systems, inventory control systems, the file system, EDI
messaging, or link applications.

MindSpring's pricing for the Mercantec SoftCart is just $65/month for
the monthly license. This price gives you the Mercantec SoftCart installed
in your web space as well as free technical support and all software upgrades. You
also have the option of paying a one-time license fee of $1080. This flat price
gives you the software installed on your web space and free technical support and upgrades for
one year.
Unfortunately, SoftCart is not yet available for FrontPage customers.
