Promote your GeoCities Home Page
Now that you've finished creating your GeoCities Home Page, you'll want to let everyone
know where to find you on the Internet. Here are some links to services that will help
you promote your Home Page to various newsgroups and search engines. Most of them require
you to fill out a form with some basic information, and then they take care of the rest.
The first thing you should do is join GeoRewards and the Internet
Link Exchange. In each of these programs, you create a banner that
appears on other sites around the Web and acts as an advertisement for
your home page. Get more information on each at our page explaining
Banner Exchange Programs.
For some other ideas, see 10 Ways to Promote your Home
Page, which was featured in the second edition of our newsletter.
After you've promoted your page, you're likely to get the recognition that you deserve.
If you are ever written about in a newspaper, magazine, or other publication, please
let our news desk know, and
look for your name in our GeoCitizen in the News section.
Note: GeoCities strongly discourages any violation of internet standards
(Netiquette) for the purpose of promoting your home page, and "spamming" is
a violation of our content guidelines. Please represent GeoCities well --
only publicize your site in appropriate newsgroups, listservs and bulletin
boards. Let the free services listed here do the work for you.
