How do I create my Home Page using the Home Page Editor?
The Home Page Editor was created to be a user friendly, flexible, and powerful utility for use in creating Personal Home Pages. It has been designed for both the novice and experienced Web user, and contains a host of innovative page design features.

Note: We now have two Home Page Editors for your convenience; the Basic Home Page Editor and the Advanced HTML Editor. If you have a basic knowledge of HTML, you will likely want to use the Advanced Editor. Otherwise, the Basic Editor will be the better choice.

Here are a few tips to help you get the best use out of the Basic Home Page Editor:

  • You don't have to know anything about the programming language of the Web, HTML (HyperText Mark Up Language), to use the Home Page Editor. You can create your own distinctive and unique Personal Home Page simply by filling in the blanks.

  • If you are familiar with HTML, you can insert any standard HTML command right in the Body or Footer Text input area of the Home Page Editor. In this way, you can reference any external image for use on your Personal Home Page.

  • For your convenience, we've compiled a list of Internet resources for home page design and creation. Here you'll find a wealth of information on the how to design a home page and what the various HTML commands mean.

  • The Home Page Editor contains a Create/View facility which lets you actually see what your page looks like immediately after you submit it. You can go back and forth as many times as you like bewteen the Home Page Editor and your page until you get it just right. Make sure you hit "reload" on your browser after each change that you make. This will make sure that the newest version of your page is displayed.

When I tried to access the Editor, I got an error message.
Sometimes when you try to access the Home Page Editor, you may get a message saying "Document Contains no Data". This happens when the site is very busy and the scripts are unable to access the database for the information needed to build your page. You may also see this message when using some of the other user utilities, such as "Personal Profile Editor", or "Disk Space Usage".

When this happens, wait a few moments and try pressing the submit button again. It will likely go through on the first or second try.

Important: Don't confuse this error with "member name or password invalid" messages. If you get this message, you'll need to re-enter your information with the correct member name and/or password.
