Eligiblity: Sweepstakes is offered only electronically via the Internet to registered GeoCities Homesteaders who have established a personal GeoCities' website as of 12:01 am PDT on 19 June 1997, and only where sweepstakes are permitted. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor; affiliates; subsidiaries; advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies; and legal advisors and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household, are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

How to Enter: You may enter Sweepstakes in one of two ways: (1) Visit the GeoGuide Installation Page at and follow the directions to add the GeoGuide to all the Web pages on your site. Any page that features a GeoGuide will automatically earn you one GeoTicket entry per visitor into the Sweepstakes. (2) In lieu of adding the GeoGuide to your pages, you may enter by legibly hand-printing on a "3 x 5" card, the words "GeoCities' Great GeoGuide Summer Sweepstakes," along with your name, address, email address, and telephone number, and mailing the entry to: GeoCities' Great GeoGuide Summer Sweepstakes, 1918 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405-1030. You may enter as often as you wish.

Electronic entries must be received by the GeoCities' server no later than 11:59pm 31 July 1997, and mail-in entries must be post-marked by 31 July 1997 and received by 8 August 1997. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor, and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Prizes: One Grand Prize-a Micron Millennia MME(C) computer (approximate retail value US$2,700-- will be awarded to a GeoCities Homesteader, (and a second grand prize will be awarded to a Community Leader in a random drawing of all community leaders serving the winning Homesteader's same community.) No alternative prize, cash equivalent, or other substitution is permitted except by Sponsor in the event of prize unavailability

Other prizes awarded to GeoCities Homesteaders: Three (3) First Prizes-Kodak 25 Digital Cameras will be awarded to GeoCities Homesteaders; Five (5) Second Prizes-Iomega ZIP Drives; Ten (10) Third Prizes-Web-Related Software: Ten winners will get one item of computer software chosen at random from the following: Adobe Photo Deluxe, Adobe Page Mill, Astound WebCast, Astound WebMotion, MacroMedia Flash2, MicroSoft FrontPage, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft PictureIt. All other federal, state and/or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Selection of Winners: Winners will be determined by random drawing from all eligible entries, to be held on or before August 15, 1997, at the Sponsor's office. All decisions are final and binding. Odds of winning will be determined by the number of entries received. The winners will be notified email, telephone or regular mail on or about 18 August 1997. Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winners.

Winner (or a winner's parent or guardian in event a winner is a minor) may be required to sign and return a release of liability, declaration of eligibility, and, where lawful, a publicity consent agreement, in connection with accepting a prize, all within 14 days of notification. By accepting and /or using a prize, winner (or winner's parent or guardian in the event winner is a minor) agrees to the use of his or her name, home page, voice or likeness for the purpose of advertising, trade or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize, or fails to timely return the completed and executed affidavit and releases as required, prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.

Conditions: By entering, participants (or participant's parent or guardian in the event participant is a minor) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decision of GeoCities, which shall be final. Sponsor, agents, and representatives of Sponsor; affiliates; subsidiaries; advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies; and legal advisors, are not responsible for and shall not be liable for (1) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, or postage-due entries; (2) telephone, electronic, hardware, or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (3) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (4) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause Sweepstakes to be disrupted or corrupted; (5) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of a prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in Sweepstakes; or (6) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with Sweepstakes. GeoCities reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel Sweepstakes at any time if a computer virus, but, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of Sweepstakes.

By participating in Sweepstakes, participants (or participant's parent or guardian in the event participant is a minor) agree to release and hold Sponsor and the employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives of Sponsor; affiliates; subsidiaries; advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies; and legal advisors, harmless form any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with Sweepstakes or resulting form acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
