World Forecast Summary, June 19: A Message From Carlotta! Mexico: A new tropical storm has formed off the southern Mexican coast. Tropical Storm "Carlotta" - a system which has the chance to become a hurricane within the next day or so - is moving toward the W/NW at around 13 mph. The minimum sustained winds are near 50 mph - with gusts just under 75 mph. The main threat across the southern Mexican coast - will be the torrential rains which could cause serious mudslides.
