Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani has been replaced as prime minister of Qatar in a cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, shortly after the new emir of Qatar gave his televised speech to the nation.
Sheikh Hamad has been replaced by Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani, current minister for internal affairs, a move that has been expected since the emir was sworn in on Tuesday.
Khalid Al Atiyah has been appointed foreign minister and Ali Sherif Al Emadi has taken the role of finance minister.
Hamad Atieh was also appointed as the new defense minister.
Energy and Industry Minister Mohammed Saleh Al Sada kept his post, according to Reuters.
