Maryland schools were among the best and the worst of Princeton Review's 368 Best Colleges Guide 2009 released this week.

University of Maryland, College Park earned the top spot for "Best Athletic Facilities."

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County ranked second on the "Most Diverse Student Body" list. Towson's Goucher College landed 19th on the "Class Discussion Encouraged" list and St. Mary's College ranked 19th on the "Happiest Students" list.

But Johns Hopkins University was ranked 6th on the "Professors Get Low Marks" list. College Park was No. 2 on the "Students Study the Least" list.

Princeton Review ranks the schools annually by surveying students on 62 categories including academics, campus life, politics, and athletics. The publisher surveyed about 120,000 students at the 368 schools.
