Four division world champion Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez traveled to Tokyo, Japan on Thursday, to meet with his promoter Akihiko Honda, director of the promotional company Teiken Promotions, in order to finalize the details a planned return - for the tentative date of September 9th at the Inglewood Forum in Los Angeles, California.

The planned opponent, as is widely known, will be Thai power-puncher Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, who on March 18 in New York captured the World Boxing Council (WBC) super flyweight title from Gonzalez with a controversial twelve round decision - and at the same time handed Gonzalez his first career defeat.

Generally, when Chocolatito meets with Mr. Honda in Japan, it is to sign the contract for his next fight. He also takes advantage of training at the Teiken Gym, but there are rumors he might be discussing some changes in his workgroup for rematch with Ruvingsai.

Before his fight with Sor Rungvisai, Gonzalez was rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and the loss dropped his record to 46-1 with 38 KOs. Gonzalez has been the World Boxing Association (WBA) minimumweight and junior flyweight champion, and WBC flyweight and super flyweight champion.

His immediate goal is to win this rematch, but before that he could make major changes to his team.

At the airport terminal, Chocolatito was accompanied by members of his team, but his representative Carlos Blandón was not present, and apparently the boxer traveled alone to the country of the Rising Sun.

"I am going to negotiate the purse of my next fight. There is talk of the rematch with Rungvisai for September, but given the fact that I have not signed a contract I can not guarantee anything," Gonzalez stated at the Managua International Airport.

"I will be there for a month, training with the Teiken family champions, and after that I will go directly to my camp in Costa Rica or I'll see if I might stay in Japan, and I would send my dad (Luis González) and Wilmer Hernandez (coach) to either of the two places. Until we arrive we will not know the proposals he has."

"I do not know what will come after this fight, there is talk of Juan Francisco Estrada against Carlos Cuadras, but HBO will see what it is the most convenient. Everyone wants the fight with Estradar, and if people ask for it... Inoue is also a strong fighter, an undefeated champion, I would also like that fight, but the Mexicans bring in a lot of people. Estrada is better known than the Japanese fighter."
