Office Depot and Born This Way Foundation Connect with the Youth Market at Highly Anticipated Teen Award Show

Celebrities And Their Families Are Among First To Receive Office Depot Limited-Edition Lady Gaga Born This Way Foundation Products That Spread Messages Of Bravery

BOCA RATON, Fla.--()--Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) today announced that celebrities and their families will be among the first to receive limited-edition Lady Gaga Born This Way Foundation back-to-school products at the Backstage Creations Celebrity Gift Retreat at Teen Choice 2012.

This event signifies Office Depot’s official kick-off of the back-to-school shopping season and brings greater attention to the Born This Way Foundation’s mission of encouraging today’s youth to grow up feeling confident about their individuality.

Office Depot is showcasing for the first time, at the Backstage Creations Celebrity Gift Retreat at Teen Choice 2012, the full assortment of limited-edition back-to-school products including “Kindness Sticks” Post-It® Notes, limited-edition Sharpie® pens, and unique “Bravery Bracelets.” These back-to-school products feature the Born This Way Foundation’s logo, as well as one of six messages from Lady Gaga: “Be Brave,” “Be Amazing,” “Be Yourself,” “Be Kind,” “Be Accepting,” and “Be Involved.”

Celebrities in attendance at the event will also be given the opportunity to support the Foundation by posting “empowerment messages” on a giant kindness board. Consumers are also encouraged to join the movement and post their own empowerment messages, by visiting www.facebook.com/OfficeDepot.

“Our goal is to create a kinder, braver school year and this great event will enable the many talented and notable celebrities in attendance to lead the way in spreading this message,” said Bob Moore, Chief Marketing Officer for Office Depot.

These new products join the six empowerment gift cards (with a face value of $20), which launched earlier this month. Parents, students, and teachers can use the gift cards to purchase incredible back-to-school essentials at Office Depot. Office Depot will donate $5 from the purchase of every empowerment gift card and 25 percent of the sales of these exclusive products directly to the Born This Way Foundation, for a guaranteed donation of $1 million this year.

All products are available exclusively at Office Depot, both in retail stores and online at www.officedepot.com and www.facebook.com/OfficeDepot.
