Lady GaGa has revealed that her involvement with musical theatre productions during high school inspired much of her career as it exists today.

During an interview for her MTV Inside The Outside special, the 'Edge of Glory' singer confessed that she 'still dreams' of her performance as Adelaide in a production of Guys and Dolls.

"I was so inspired by musical theatre like Guys and Dolls. But I would never get cast in those roles because I was a brunette," she recalled.

"So eventually I bought a wig. Then I got cast as Adelaide. It was the greatest moment of high school. I tell you, I still dream about it."

Lady GaGa: Inside The Outside will premiere on MTV on Thursday, May 26.

Lady GaGa recently said that she hopes to direct more of her music videos in the future.

She is currently said to be planning a "fishy" clip for 'Edge of Glory' with her creative director Laurieann Gibson.
