CBS Interactive added to its portfolio of gaming and entertainment sites today, picking up Giant Bomb and Comic Vine from Whiskey Media.

Now part of CBS Interactive.
Now part of CBS Interactive.

The GameSpot parent company will keep those sites--and their staff--largely intact. They will continue as separately run sites, although they will be linked to by GameSpot.

Editorial staff joining CBS Interactive from Giant Bomb are Jeff Gerstmann, Ryan Davis, Brad Shoemaker, Vincent Caravella, Alex Navarro, Patrick Klepek, and Drew Scanlon. Comic Vine's Tony Guerrero and Sarah Lima are also joining CBS Interactive, as are a handful of non-editorial personnel. Both Giant Bomb and Comic Vine teams will report to CBS Interactive vice president of games programming John Davison.

Gerstmann will continue in his role as editor-in-chief of Giant Bomb and will help shape the editorial direction of CBS Interactive's gaming portfolio, including GameSpot and GameFAQs.

Giant Bomb was started by former GameSpotters Gerstmann and Davis in 2008. Gerstmann and Davison will discuss the future, how the brands will coexist, and also address questions raised by the audience in a live video stream today at 4 p.m. Pacific.
