Center set for Naming Ceremony

Athletics facility to be named in honor of John F. Jaeger ’65

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – On Friday, May 4, the campus community will gather to honor the generous support of John F. Jaeger '65 and the naming of the John F. Jaeger Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Fitness inside Bream Gymnasium.

As a tribute to Jaeger's most recent commitment to Gettysburg College, his generous past financial support of the Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Fitness, his leadership in the construction of the Center, and his consistent efforts and advocacy in support of Gettysburg College, the Board of Trustees voted to name the Center in his honor.

Friday's festivities are set to begin at 5 p.m. inside Bream Gym. Remarks will be given by several individuals, including Trustee Chairman Bob Duelks '77 and College President Janet Morgan Riggs '77. A special presentation is in store after the remarks followed by a reception in the Center lobby. The ceremony and reception are open to all members of the campus community.

Since opening its doors in the fall of 2009, the Jaeger Center has served as a focal point for recreational activities at Gettysburg College. Jaeger provided the initial $1.2 million to launch the $25-million dollar project and recently committed an additional $5 million to the College, marking the largest gift to the general endowment in the school's history.
