John Zogby ’70 Named Director of Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship in the Madden School of Business at Le Moyne

The Madden School of Business at Le Moyne has announced that John Zogby, internationally respected pollster, opinion leader and best-selling author, will become director of the Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship, one of three centers within the school. He will start in his new role on Tuesday, March 15.

As director of the Keenan Center, Zogby will help develop a strategic vision and plan to position the Keenan Center as a driving force for economic development within the Upstate New York small business community through entrepreneurial leadership, education, opportunity and training.

“This role is a perfect match between my alma mater and my skills in the world of entrepreneurialism,” said Zogby, a 1970 Le Moyne graduate. “I have started a successful business and am now starting a new one with my sons, so I will be an entrepreneurial practitioner while I am directing and encouraging others. There’s no better place to do this than where my education began.”

“We are so thrilled to welcome John back to the Heights in this role,” said Madden School of Business Dean Jim Joseph ’83. “He will be an integral part of the Keenan Center’s efforts to integrate an entrepreneurial mindset into the culture and curriculum of Le Moyne students.”

Zogby will first be introduced in his new role at an event taking place on Super Tuesday (March 1), where he was invited by University of Akron's Executive in Residence Jeff Hoffman (the founder of Priceline.com) for a talk at the Ohio institution about entrepreneurship, millennials, and the presidential election. His new book “We Are Many, We Are One: Neo-Tribes & Tribal Analytics in 21st Century America” is scheduled to be released in March.

For three decades, the Zogby companies have produced polls with an unparalleled record of accuracy, reliability and insight. An early pioneer in the practice of online polling, Zogby’s interactive methodology is a leader in the industry. Fortune Magazine, The New Yorker and Investor’s Business Daily have all profiled him. He has appeared on every major U.S. television network, the BBC and scores of U.S. and international cable news programs. His analytical expertise has also been published on the opinion pages of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Financial Times.

He has been spoofed on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered”, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the Late Show with David Letterman. His appearances on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart are among his favorites.

Zogby is a columnist for Forbes.com, writes a weekly Report Card on the President for Washington Secrets of the Washington Examiner, is a regular analyst for both the BBC and CBC and is a founding contributor to The Huffington Post. In 2008, Zogby authored the New York Times best-seller “The Way We’ll Be: The Zogby Report on the Transformation of the American Dream” (Random House, 2008) and is co-author (with Joan Snyder Kuhl) of “First Globals: Understanding, Managing and Unleashing Our Millennial Generation,” which just completed its fifth printing.

He has polled and consulted for a wide spectrum of business, media, government and political groups including Coca-Cola, Microsoft, CISCO Systems, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the US Census Bureau. A senior advisor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Zogby also serves as Commissioner for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Commission on Smart Power and is a senior fellow of the Catholic University Center for Policy Research and Catholic Studies. As chairman-emeritus of Sudan Sunrise, Zogby works to continue the vision of NBA player Manute Bol to bring peace to Sudan through education. He serves on the board of Upstate Venture Connect and numerous regional, national, and international non-profits boards.

Zogby has been awarded three honorary doctorates from the State University of New York, the College of St. Rose, and the Graduate School of Union University. In 2008 he was awarded the Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellows Award from the University of California Irvine.
