"We wish to send a clear message to all wrongdoers that the police will definitely not hesitate to shoot and kill the suspect if he is placing the life of a [policeman] in danger," JPDT chairperson Derrick Mdluli said.
His organisation sent its condolences to the family of the police inspector killed during an arrest at Umlazi N section on Tuesday.
Mdluli welcomed the killing of six men by police during a bank robbery in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
He said police should only shoot dead criminals when they resisted arrest or when the police felt their lives were in danger.
"JPDT is totally against those policemen who sometimes shoot and kill the suspect at their homes and later claim that the suspect was pointing the gun at them," said Mdluli.
