    A MEGA shopping mall opened Saturday in Longhua New Area, which has few shopping malls and an increasing number of residents.

    COCO City, an 80,000-square-meter shopping mall built by local real estate giant Galaxy Group, is about a five- minute walk from Baishilong Metro Station.

    The shopping mall is composed of a Bona cinema, a China Resources supermarket and a 5,000-square-meter children’s center, in addition to a large number of restaurants and fashion brands such as GAP. Restaurants in COCO City are offering 50 percent discounts until Nov. 12.

    COCO City is a sister brand of COCO Park, which opened in 2006 and was the city’s first park-style shopping mall. Located at the city center in Futian District, COCO Park has become a popular leisure resort for Shenzheners.

    Longhua’s COCO City is similar to Futian’s COCO Park in size, but it mainly targets nearby residents. Galaxy Group is building another COCO City shopping mall in Changzhou City in Jiangsu Province.
