RM workshop concludes * With the aim to further enhance the technical capacity functions of Jordanian commercial banks in terms of risk management, Jordan Association of Banks (JAB) in cooperation with USAID-funded Sustainable Achievement of Business Expansion and Quality Program (SABEQ) held a two-day risk management (RM) training session. This session trained 28 individuals from 14 commercial banks to be equipped to face any managerial challenges that may come their way when handling risk management issues.-Rockwell Trading in Amman* Rockwell Trading Inc. a leading provider of trading tools, software, and educational resources, announced the expansion of its global sales operation to Amman Monday. Cost of hosting Iraqis: JD 1billionIraqis residing in Jordan cost the national economy about JD1 billion a year, Government Spokesman Nasser Judeh stated Monday. Speaking to reporters during his weekly press meeting, Judeh said this figure is likely to increase after Iraqi children were allowed to join public schools this year whether their parents have legal residence or not.The Education Ministry has estimated that a single student at elementary, secondary or vocational schools in the Kingdom costs the government an average of JD1,000 per year, the number of Iraqi children joining government schools stands at 40,000.New taxi service * The Jordan-Kuwait Noor Financial Investment Company, which won the JD8 million tender to provide a new taxi service in Jordan is currently studying five offers from international car manufactures to operate the kingdom's first dial-up taxi service.
