A politics professor claims a Corbynite student demanded that he be disciplined after a row over the definition of “neoliberalism”.

Colin Talbot, who heads the University of Manchester’s department for government, provoked abusive tweets from the student after posting a lengthy blog on the subject. He argued that it was such a broad term that it was meaningless and few people ever admitted to being neoliberals.

The student, posting messages from @Hmmiguess, claimed that Professor Talbot was “stupid”, that he was bringing the university into disrepute, and that he was “ashamed and embarrassed” to be at the same university.
