Former President Gerald Ford and former Vice President Walter...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Former President Gerald Ford and former Vice President Walter Mondale were both in Nashville Thursday, but it wasn't Ford who pulled the stumbling act.

Mondale tripped on a speakers' platform and fell to the floor during a press conference at Nashville's Metro Airport. The red-faced Mondale picked himself up, smiled and quipped, 'No, I'm not Gerald Ford.'

He labeled the platform which caused his stumble as 'a Republican riser.'

Ford also was in Nashville during a campaign swing across Tennessee for Republican candidates.
