Repose: An Aircraft Cabin Design Research To Improve The In-Flight Sleep Of Long Haul Economy Passengers

thesis
posted on 2018-09-24, 07:16 authored by NYEIN CHAN AUNG
This exegesis accompanies the Repose Cabin, an aircraft cabin concept design that enhances sleep for passengers in the economy class cabin during long-haul flights. The work resulted from a studio based PhD design research program and stood apart from existing products in that sleep enhancement solutions are provided from the design of the aircraft cabin environment and architecture instead of the design of the seats. The exegesis functions as a concise presentation of the research framework and a critical examination of the design output.
