OkCupid Launches Inclusive 'For Every Single Person' Global Campaign

OkCupid Just Became the First Major Dating App to Support Personal Pronouns

Online dating has been a massive help for the LGBTQ+ community, creating dedicated spaces for various sexual orientations, allowing users to screen their partners for acceptance, and making it possible to date safely. But there's still a long way to go before equality is achieved, and in recognition of that fact, OkCupid just announced their latest inclusivity initiative, the "For Every Single Person" campaign.

What does that look like, in concrete terms? Much greater customizability along gender and sexual orientation, for a start. OkCupid will now offer over 22 gender options and 20 different orientations, with more than 60 LGBTQ+ identities to choose from. According to their internal data, they've seen a massive 20% increase in sign-ups from non-binary people since the summer, and a 5% increase in daters who identify as bisexual.

And to show how serious they are, they commissioned Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan to create the campaign's artwork. "During the pandemic people really missed dating and love,” said Maurizio Cattelan. “Now, singles are eager for real connections — dates, romance, sex. We loved capturing the variety of people on OkCupid for this campaign, celebrating love in all its forms, for every single person.”

The campaign, however, isn't limited to the LGBTQ+ community. Are you a self-described tree-hugger? Pro-vaccine? An introvert? A feminist? With OkCupid's new effort, you can shout your identity to the dating world and represent your authentic self.

“We have spent years creating an inclusive dating app where everyone feels welcomed, and this campaign really highlights all the different daters we have on OkCupid,” said Melissa Hobley, Global Chief Marketing Officer at OkCupid. “As the country reopens and people start dating in-person again, we want everyone to know OkCupid is the place for them to find a meaningful relationship, whatever that means to them.”

If you live in Chicago, Los Angeles or New York, you'll be able to see the campaign's artwork on display throughout your city, but even if you can't enjoy the art in person, you can sign up for OkCupid and put your most authentic self out there.
