Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

Ability to understand directions and operating cleaning equipment such as side by side, vacuum and auto scrubber.
Knowledge of cleaners and ability to safely use them.
Skill in cleaning offices, restrooms and bathroom, interacting courteously with others, working both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to check work areas and report problems, prioritizing workload.
Ability to perform all physical aspects of assigned duties, including stooping, reaching, climbing and lifting up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to work irregular work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as well as serving “on-call” to meet the needs of the department and University.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six months experience working in custodial operations.

Job Description:

Responsible for enhancing the physical appearance of the buildings on campus by providing a sanitary environment and preventing the transmission of disease carrying microorganisms.

Job Duties:

Empty trash and throw into dumpsters
Clean and disinfect sinks, bathrooms and locker rooms
Restock all paper products
Clean lobbies, common areas, laundry room, offices, furniture, writing boards and light fixtures
Secure buildings, entrances, exits, interior doors, custodial closets, storage rooms, etc.
Clean windows
Clean kitchen and refrigerator
Remove old was and polish floors
Polish floors with buffer in areas of heavy traffic
Maintain supplies, keys, equipment and custodial closet
Clean according to procedures
Adhere to all local, state, national and university safety regulations
Interacting courteously with others, working independently and as a valuable member of a team
Perform other duties as assigned.
