Discussion

Please see Commons:Bots/Work requests for background. No visible edits will be performed. Normally, my understanding is that these types of tasks will not need approval. However, purging files seems to be a rather expensive function, as my bot got once blocked as a sysadmin action for excessive purging. The situation is still unresolved (details here https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T280232), only exception is that I'm operating at reduced speed since then. I can limit the purging for this request to redirects, which will help to keep the general impact low. Are there any concerns from the community? Please also advise on the frequency in which this should run. --Schlurcher (talk) 19:19, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Surprised that just purging was able to create problems as it is quite a common task and shouldn’t be able to create something bad with an only bot. I am good, especially with 5 sec delay rubin16 (talk) 19:37, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Looks OK for me. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 13:53, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You may want to put a note up at AN before the task starts, encouraging quick feedback if any issues are encountered. In comparison, this noticeboard has very few readers. -- (talk) 10:42, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
