Derivative work of a copyrighted bookvoder. Fritz Koch-Gotha, the illustrator, died in 1956. The cover artwork is (to me) clearly above the "Schöpfungshöhe" limit of German law, and the cover art is also clearly the main motive and sole purpose of the photo.
