Summary

Description The w:Old City of Jerusalem in 1937. The w:Jewish quarter is at the bottom of the image. The buildings and houses in the centre are part of the Mughrabi (Maghrebian) Quarter which was destroyed by the Israeli Army in 1967. The two large domes are the w:Hurva Synagogue and the w:Tiferet Yisrael synagogue. Both were destroyed by the w:Arab Legion in the 1948 War. The Western (Wailing) Wall is clearly visible right of centre.

  • If the copyrights are owned by the State, not acquired from a private person, and there is no special agreement between the State and the author — on 1 January of the 51st year after the creation of the work (paragraphs 36 and 42 in the 2007 statute).
