Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Deletion of Why does a man rape book's photo

Hello Ju,

You mentioned that File:New cover of Why does a man rape.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation.

It was the new cover of this book and it was changed after around three months of its release. It was made by Shrishti Prabhakar, who works as a senior graphic designer in the Invincible Publishers, the publisher of this book.

I want to add the same photo again and will put it make it available under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.

@MaedaAkihiko: MaedaAkihikoさん、こんばんわ。まずMaedaAkihikoさんが投稿された画像についてですが、投稿された画像は明らかに車両ではなくロゴを示すことを目的に撮影されたものと解釈しています。

* MaedaAkihikoさんが撮影された場合であっても(COM:DW)、主題となっているロゴ自体のライセンスがコモンズで受け入れ可能なものとは確認できていません。(なお、ウィキペディア日本語版とコモンズでは受け入れ可能なライセンスは異なります。例:ja:File:Tokai Train Headmark.jpg, ja:File:JR EC Tc204-3108.jpg)

* 車両を撮影した際の写り込みなどロゴそのものを主題としない場合は、ロゴに関する問題は生じないと解することもできますが(COM:DM, [1])、ご投稿された画像はロゴ以外のものは全く映っておらずこちらの適用も困難と考え、即時削除タグをつけました。

上記に関してご投稿された画像は問題がないのであれば除去いたします。(コモンズの管理者によって問題がないと判断された場合も除去され即時削除は差し戻されます)　 -- Netora (talk) 13:29, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

それでは、既に多くのページで適用されているCategory:Logos of trains of Japan等の画像群はどう対応されるのでしょうか？いずれも車両マーク自体を示す目的で撮影された画像のみが集約されています。「車体が全く写っておらず」とは仰いましたが、明らかに背景は無塗装ステンレス車両の車体です。ステンレス地の車体が背景ではNG。何かしらの塗装やラインカラーが写っていれば、マークを示す目的で撮影された写真でもOKという事でしょうか？--MaedaAkihiko (talk) 14:23, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

コモンズのカテゴリーの一つである「Logos of trains of Japan」の中には、基本的に車両のマークをメインで示す画像が紐付いています。まずはこれらの画像と当該画像の差は何であるかを明示して頂けなければ納得は出来ません。 --MaedaAkihiko (talk) 14:31, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

@MaedaAkihiko: 問題は車体の材質だとか塗装の有無ではなく、投稿においてロゴが主題かどうか、そのロゴがコモンズで受け入れ可能かどうかが判断基準です。ですからご指摘のカテゴリには同様に判断すれば問題のある投稿もあるでしょうが、それが故にあなたの投稿もコモンズで受け入れ可能であるという根拠にはなりません。またこのカテゴリへの投稿には受け入れ可能と判断されるものもあります。例えばCOM:TOOを見ていただくとわかりますが独創性がないと判断される場合は、コモンズで受け入れ可能です(例:File:Keio_Liner_logo.svg)。逆にFile:Nambulogo1.jpgはファイル名にlogoとあることや写真の構図からロゴを示すことが主題であり、側面のロゴデザインは独創性を有しているため、こちらは問題のある投稿と言えるでしょう。

今回のSDタグ付与はたまたま私が(新着投稿から)発見したために付記したに過ぎず、当然ながら私が上記カテゴリのすべての投稿に対しライセンスレビューや対処を行う責任や義務を有しているわけではありません。既存の投稿とは独立に改めて上記に提起しました事項について、問題がないのであればその根拠を示していただきますようよろしくお願いします。(追伸：カテゴリのリンク記述が誤っており私の会話ページが上記カテゴリに含まれてしまったため記述を修正しました） --Netora (talk) 15:06, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

受け入れ可能の判断基準および、フォント形状が特殊な京王ライナーのロゴには独創性が無いと仰る基準が全く不可解ですが、タイトルにlogo等と含まない・ロゴ単体で写したもので無ければひとまず問題が無い旨は理解しました。他の前列には触れず場当たり的に削除対応されるのは全く腑に落ちませんが、この画像に関しては後日ロゴ単体ではなく、車体前部を主とした画像をアップロードさせて頂きますので、この画像は削除して頂いて構いません。MaedaAkihiko (talk) 15:24, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Netoraさんの母語で書かせていただきます。 私TAQUEDAは、植松奎二氏のWikipediaページの編集者の一人という立場です。 COM:FOPというのは、屋外に恒常的に設置された作品に関するルールでしょうか？ もし、そうであれば、今回削除された23点の画像のうち該当するのは、 File:KU2000 FloatingForm-Red 615cm Kirishima.jpg だけになります。 他に2点屋外作品がありますが、いずれも展覧会終了後に分解・撤去されており、写真しか残っていません。 また、3Dアートワークではない、植松氏の制作スタジオの写真が3点削除されているのは、過誤ではないでしょうか。 いずれにしても作品の画像は全て、作者の植松氏自身が撮影したものを、CC BY-SA 4.0のライセンス付きでウィキメディア・コモンズにアップロードされたという情報を知っていますので、著作権侵害問題はクリアされるものと信じています。 23点の画像ファイルは、復活させていただくよう、私からもお願いします。 ありがとうございました。--TAQUEDA, Atsuo (talk) 10:13, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

TAQUEDAさん、こんにちは。ご呈示の削除依頼に関してはFoPも事由としてありますが商業作家である制作者本人の許諾に関してもに明白な許諾を要すると考え提起をしたものです。コモンズはご承知の通り、自由にユーザ名を設定して登録できますので植松氏のユーザ名であっても本人であることを示す材料としては不十分だと考えています。写真がすでに植松氏のウェブサイトやSNS等にCCライセンス付きで公開がなされていればこのような検証は容易ですが、これらファイルには出典もなかったと記憶しています。すでに別のファイルでVRT手続を取られているようですが、当該ファイルにも同様の手続き(植松氏自身の許諾声明をVRTチームへ送信)することを検討いただければと思います。既に削除されたファイルであってもVRT手続きによって許諾が確認できれば復帰されます。--Netora (talk) 06:10, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

植松氏の23点の画像の出典は、氏のPCのハードディスクです……。それらのファイルについてVRTの手続きをとってもらうことを、すでに検討しましたが、Wikimedia Commonsの管理人のJimさんからは、以下のようなコメントをもらいました。
It is fairly common for fans of notable artists to open an account on Commons using the artist's name. We have no way here of knowing that User:Keijiuematsukunst23.5 is actually Keiji Uematsu.

日本学士院の画像について

こんにちは。突然失礼します。User talk:バリスターズを見ました。私がアップロードした日本学士院ホームページからの画像についてGJSTU-2.0でないので削除のテンプレートを貼られたとのことでしたが、このサイトについてを見ると「当ホームページのコンテンツを利用する場合は、「文部科学省ウェブサイト利用規約」に従って、御利用ください。」となっています。また、文部科学省ウェブサイト利用規約を見ると、http://www.japan-acad.go.jp/ （日本学士院）はGJSTU-2.0であるようです（英語版にも記載あり）。よって、削除は不適当と考えます。 バリスターズ (talk) 22:50, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
