How is this relevant to this template? Multichill (talk) 18:46, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The attribution done through these templates is currently not supported by Wikipedia's PDF export/book function.  Docu  at 19:20, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hardcoded deed.en?[edit]

The licensetpl_link field always contains an URL to the English license deed, even when the template is displayed in a different language (for which there is a translated version on creativecommons.org), see e.g. [1]. I guess we cannot use just {{int:lang}}, since the list of languages supported on creativecommons.org is much narrower than on Commons, but we should add a parameter (say, deedlanguage) with a default of the current “en”. --Mormegil (talk) 22:41, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's only machine code. The user gets a link to the translated version (if available). In your example I end up at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/cz/deed.cs . Multichill (talk) 08:18, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What does it mean “only machine code”, and who is “the user”? Maybe we should clearly define what should the licensetpl_link field contain and what could it be used for. The license URL to be used in metadata is (I believe) without the “deed.en” part at all. The licensetpl_link field is currently used by the stockphoto gadget to construct attribution, where proper deed.xx might be in place. See e.g. [2], click “Použít soubor” and you’ll get the nonsensical “deed.en” there. --Mormegil (talk) 11:40, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request[edit]

{{Editprotected}} Remove the |link= from the file links to provide attribution as required by their licenses by enabling linking. Ramaksoud2000 (talk) 16:38, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done it's {{PD-ineligible}} and linking is very confusing in the interface.

Edit request for SA icon[edit]

Could the [[Image:Cc-sa.svg]] in the template be changed to [[Image:Cc-sa white.svg]]? For wikis that have non-white backgrounds and use InstantCommons, CC-BY-SA templates display the ShareAlike icon with a transparent background. The white-background version of the Attribution icon is used, so it would probably be better to make the ShareAlike icon use the white background as well. Wrong short name[edit]

{{Editprotected}} The "licensetpl_short" abreviation is wrong. It should be "CC BY-SA X.0" not "CC-BY-SA-X.0" per e.g. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.en.

The same also applies to {{Cc-by-layout}}. /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 08:39, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Fabrice Florin (WMF): since this might affect the MultimediaViewer (since the change would show up in CommonsMetadata). /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 08:51, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please confirm first that nothing explodes. Multichill (talk) 17:22, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
