SonyGM[edit]

Hello! This user's contributions to the English-language Wikipedia made me wonder if they are another sockpuppet of Livioandronico2013. I noticed that they swapped a photo of the City of San Marino to one uploaded by Messapi, an identified sockpuppet. They seem to be editing crosswiki. IgnatiusofLondon (talk) 03:53, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also adding Grosseto2 (talk contribs Luxo's SUL deleted contribs logs block user block log ) with same usual xwiki modus operandi and EXIF data as other Livioandronico2013 socks.--A09 (talk) 15:56, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It appears to be another pair of this LTA's socks, created (possibly?) after the latest checkuser request. 83.61.247.43 12:21, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Info: Messapi's latest contributions before their block are dated one month ago. Note also that this user is blocked both in Commons and Meta (global). 83.61.247.43 12:25, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Elcobbola: : Could you please check for SubiacoSanBenedetto (talk contribs Luxo's SUL deleted contribs logs block user block log ) too? Found it today while crosswiki patrolling, already blocked (but not CU confirmed) on itwiki? Same xwiki contribution pattern, can't see Commons edits though.--A09 (talk) 17:05, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rationale, discussion and results

Reason: New account created to come back with exactly the same behavior such like Livioandronico2013's other recent accounts. See also Wikidata:Requests for checkuser/Case/Σπάρτακος at Wikidata. 83.61.247.43 14:56, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Castro Pretorio[edit]

Reason: same behavior as Livioandronico2013, but now the EXIF are masked. He replaces old images with his own on Wikipedia articles without looking for consent. NOTE: RCU on it.wiki confirmed that Wikiriello and Wikiettino are Castro Pretorio's socks. --Ruthven (msg) 11:13, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Declined - Please review COM:RFCU, including "Evidence is required. When you request a check, you must include a rationale that demonstrates (e.g., by including diffs) what the disruption to the project is, and why you believe the accounts are related." (emphasis in original) It is not the duty of CUs to build cases for you. If the assertion is "same behavior", the expectation is diffs for both accounts demonstrating the similarly. Эlcobbola talk 14:09, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ridiculous! This is an LTA case. He comes back every few months and makes exactly the same stink, every time. He never changes his modus operandi. He sticks around abusing residential proxies in the interim times and fucks with every Wikipedia project you can think of. This should be an open-and-shut case every time, yet this guy manages to place a huge administrative burden on the whack-a-mole game. What the hell. Elizium23 (talk) 17:35, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ridiculous is not reading instructions, and unhelpful comments like these--you too could not be bothered to offer evidence. If it's an obvious case, no CU is needed ({{Duck}} is a "request declined" indicator.) Эlcobbola talk 18:08, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Monticiano[edit]

Reason: same behavior as Livio's other socks, but with a new camera in the EXIF this year. Since 14 January 2023, prolific uploads of "own work" high-quality photographs of Vatican City, Rome, and Italy locales. User is clearly experienced, as setting up user talk archiving is no problem for him 9 days in. Italian is his native language; he can understand and respond in kind; his English is proficient but obviously a bit broken. Belligerent and vehement denials about being a sock ensue, and NB: this user typically concludes talk page messages with "Greetings." or "Saluti." or "Grazie." He was blocked for abuse, as Commons admins know, then block evasion, then globally locked, and today 10 years later, we are forever chasing his socks as he attempts to force his photos into every article possible, by any means necessary. You will never block/lock enough of the IPv4 address ranges he uses; he always finds more and different providers (or open proxies; I don't know). He has had dozens of socks, and simply abandons them to create more from another IP. Checkuser results are pending at Wikidata, where he also uses IPv4 addresses to evade detection. Elizium23 (talk) 14:56, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I never put pictures of the Vatican, nor did I force anything. I only put pictures of Rome with my camera. Besides, you are the belligerent one here, I think I replied in a civilised and polite manner. But is putting pictures of Rome with a decent camera forbidden here? Thank you. 7Colli[edit]

Reason: *sigh* really obvious here; even re-uploaded a deleted Orlando Paride photo. Elizium23 (talk) 21:33, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Confirmed to Merulana. Эlcobbola talk 21:41, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Elcobbola, what I would really really like to do is re-nominate all of this dude's photographs for deletion and salting. The reason being that the photographs are causing him to return to Commons and continue evading blocks and abusing multiple accounts. Then he returns to Wikidata and every single language project and forces his photos into as many as possible.
If Livio here had no opportunity to force any photos into articles, he may not gain any dopamine rush from coming back again and again. If we deleted all his photos, he would definitely have problems putting them back into articles without uploading them again and again.
Unfortunately, there is no equivalent on Commons for w:WP:DENY, which would permit us to delete all of the fruits of his labours. Apparently, Commons editors enjoy high-quality properly-licensed photographs even when they're abused and used for self-promotion, and even when they eclipse other worthy high-quality images of the same topic. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Elizium23 (talk) 07:42, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Livioandronico2013[edit]

Suspected related users[edit]

Reason: Orlando Paride has returned to his old stomping grounds: uploading photos of Italian landmarks. Note Exif data matches Orlando's photos. Sock is editing Orlando's photos to follow up on deletion discussion. As we say on enwiki, it looks like a duck quacking into a megaphone. Elizium23 (talk) 15:32, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • As before, all known socks are Stale; handling will need to be based on behaviour. Note also that RFCU is "a last resort for difficult cases" and {{Duck}} is a "request declined" indicator. A "duck quacking into a megaphone" should be brought to ANB, not RFCU. Эlcobbola talk 15:42, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected related users[edit]

Rationale, discussion and results[edit]

Reason: Same behavior observed as IKKos, uploading copyvio photos as "own work" and then pushing them into en.wiki. Ex: Venice Arsenal and File:Santi Cosma e Damiano (Roma) - Interior.jpg (created by IKKos, linked on en.wiki). EXIF camera model matches: Nikon D850 File:River Gods at Villa Lante (Bagnaia).jpg and File:Santi Cosma e Damiano (Rome) - Ceiling centre.jpg. Name is the same as the other sock and purported photographer, "Paris Orlando". Elizium23 (talk) 22:01, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • All known socks are Stale, as was the case with en.wiki. Handling would need to have been based on behaviour--moot, as Orlando Paride is globally blocked and thus no further action is needed. Эlcobbola talk 18:35, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
