EAPD, GAH partner to extend healthcare services under ‘Decent Life’ initiative to Africa

The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) signed on Monday a cooperation protocol with the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH), in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the African Union Agenda 2063.

Mohamed Khalil, Secretary General of the EAPD, said that the cooperation aims to support African countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union Agenda 2063 by transferring the authority’s distinguished expertise in the field of Health to African countries and providing therapeutic and pharmaceutical assistance.

He added that the protocol will contribute to the promotion and support of medical diplomacy with African countries.

He also pointed out that the cooperation includes training for the medical sector of African expatriates in various fields and introducing Egypt’s experience in developing the health system.

the protocol provides  cooperation in transferring the experience of the Good Life initiative in the health sector to the countries of Africa.

Khalil also explained that the protocol includes cooperation for the establishment of specialized medical centers that will be an Egyptian model to follow in the health fields in a number of African countries.

Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairperson of the GAH, stressed that cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by the Egyptian Agency for partnership for development is of great importance to support joint development project.

He pointed out that the authority will provide health care services to foreign expatriates coming from African countries through the agency within the authority’s medical facilities.

He added that the services that will be received by expatriates from African countries will be characterized by the highest international quality standards, pointing to the provision of all means of providing services through artificial intelligence media.

Al-Sabki further added that the EAPD will play an important role in introducing the role of the General Authority for health care through the embassies of African countries accredited to Egypt, which helps to increase the opportunities to attract expatriates and activate the medical tourism profile.
