GCC security is integral part of Egypt’s: Al-Sisi

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a phone call on Wednesday from Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to discuss a number of regional issues of common concern, according to Bassam Rady, the Spokesperson for the Presidency.

The king expressed his country’s deep appreciation for Egypt’s efforts, under the leadership of President Al-Sisi, in the regional and Arab arenas to consolidate regional and international peace and security.

The two leaders agreed during the call on the importance of enhancing efforts to face the challenges that the region is witnessing in order to preserve Arab national security.

They also discussed bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain, where the Bahraini king valued the distinguished and brotherly relations between the two countries within the framework of the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two peoples.

Furthermore, the king expressed Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen the existing cooperation frameworks with Egypt.

On his part, Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s pride in the close ties between the two brotherly countries and peoples, which derive their strength and stability from their historical relations and their belief in unity of purpose and destiny.

He stressed the continued promotion and strengthening of mechanisms of mutual consultation and coordination on all issues and developments in the Arab region within the framework of the constants of Egyptian policy, which considers Gulf security an integral part of Egyptian national security.
