About This Collection

The FCC Record is a comprehensive compilation of decisions, reports, public notices, and other documents of the Federal Communications Commission from 1986 to the present.

The FCC Record was preceded by the Federal Communications Commission Reports, first and second series, which covered the years 1934-1986. These earlier volumes are available in hard copy in the Government Documents Department of the UNT Libraries (call numbers CC1.12: and CC1.12/2:) and many other federal depository libraries.

About the Federal Communications Commission

Created by the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 151 et seq.), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) "regulates interstate and foreign communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable. It is responsible for the orderly development and operation of broadcast services and the provision of rapid, efficient nationwide and worldwide telephone and telegraph services at reasonable rates. Its responsibilites also include the use of communications for promoting safety of Life and property and for strengthening the national defense."
