Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The Library Hub Cataloguing service is provided by a third party supplier on behalf of Jisc. The Web interface is built and hosted through third party software and ‘skinned’ to look like a Jisc site. As as we don't control the platform we are unable to make the changes required to improve it. Our supplier is working to improve service accessibility.
Use of page Zoom results in display problems. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.10 (Reflow).
The Advanced search pages may be difficult to navigate using a keyboard because some form elements are missing a label. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role Value).
The Help page lacks an html language attribute, which will affect users of assistive technologies. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 3.1.1 (Language of page)
There is no mechanism to bypass repeated blocks of text. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.1 (Bypass Blocks)
An image on the help page has no alternative text. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text content)
How we tested this website
The website was last tested in November 2020. The test was carried out by Jisc.
We tested all search interface pages and the help page.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
Jisc will be developing a new Library Hub Cataloguing interface that will be built with accessibility in mind and introduced in 2021. Once the new interface has been released we will carry out automated testing of new features to avoid introducing accessibility problems in future. We will undertake regular service testing and respond to any accessibility issues identified.
