Robert Gordon University Library

About the library

Located at the heart of the campus, you can’t miss the striking green glass Library tower. There are four floors of books and journals, computers and study space for you to make use of.

A receptionist welcomes you into the library and staff will also be available at touch down points on the subject floors to help out with any enquiries. Subject staff offer drop in sessions on database searching, referencing, Refworks and anything else you need help with.

The library is open to all students and staff; even if you are studying one of our courses through online learning, you will have full access to our library and borrowing facilities throughout your time studying. Many of our library services are also available for external members of the local and wider community.

The Library Tower is equipped with over 175 workstations, multi-function devices for printing, photocopying and scanning, WiFi and desktop power for charging personal devices. There are also self-service kiosks where, as well as borrowing and renewing books, you can check your account and pay any fines. There is an automated sorter where you can return your books.

We’ve consulted with academic staff and student representatives to arrive at a user friendly layout. The most frequently borrowed books are in open shelving and the lesser used are stored in moveable compact shelving.

The local library catalogue is available online.
