About

Roxanne Garcia-Bell is the senior director of coverage for CNN/U.S. In this role, she coordinates all of CNN’s domestic newsgathering operations including CNN’s national newsdesk and regional bureaus. She manages teams of correspondents, producers, editors, crews and engineers, and collaborates across CNN’s networks and platforms. She has contributed to the network’s coverage on stories ranging from the coronavirus pandemic to protests following the death of George Floyd, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria and the mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.

Garcia has an extensive background in newsgathering and programming. Before joining CNN, she served as bureau chief and director of news across the southern and northern regions for NBC News, and as a show producer for Nightly News. Previous to NBC News, Garcia was the senior special projects producer for Telemundo. She got her start in television news as an assignment editor for WPLG in Miami, FL.

Garcia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Barry University, and she participated in the Media Executive Leadership Program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
