Tatiana Arias is a News Desk Researcher on CNN’s International Desk based in Atlanta.

Arias has covered a number of key stories including the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in Latin America and breaking news stories such as the disappearance of flight MH370 in March 2014; the downing of flight MH17 in July 2014; the Charlie Hebdo shooting in Paris in January 2015; and multiple general elections in Latin America.

Arias joined CNN in 2012 as an intern for CNN en Español before being promoted to Associate Producer for CNNe’s Conclusiones. In 2018, Arias joined the award-winning prime time show Panorama Mundial, where she focused on content production for digital platforms and climate change newsgathering coverage.

Arias is a two-time Emmy nominee for her role as a producer and writer for the investigative story ‘Colombia: A Country Divided by the Scars of War.’ She is also the recipient of a Shorty Awards Honorable Mention for “Best Multiplatform Coverage” in 2015, and a GLAAD Award nominee for “Outstanding TV Journalism Segment (Spanish Language)” for the 2017 coverage of the Pulse Nightclub Massacre in Orlando, Florida, during her work for CNN en Español’s prime-time show Conclusiones.

Arias has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia State University, where she also received a Certificate of International Business. She is also an alumni of the GALEO Institute for Leadership.

She is fluent in Spanish and English.
